 CHÂTEAU LAGREZETTE REVIEWS
AS SEEN IN WINE ENTHUSIAST AUGUST 2015 ISSUE

86 Château Lagrézette 2012 Purple by Lagrezette (Cahors).Bright, fruity and with light tannins, this is a generous, open approach to Malbec. It has fruit more than structure, plus plenty of black plums and ripe berries sharpened by acidity. It’s ready to drink. The Other Wine & Spirits. —R.V. abv: 13.5% Price: $14

85 Château Lagrézette 2009 The Original Purple (Cahors). This entry-level wine from Lagrézette is certainly purple in color. With touches of wood under the juicy red fruit flavors, and soft tannins, it cries out for a barbecue. The Other Wine & Spirits. —R.V. abv: 14% Price: $15

91 Château Lagrézette 2012 Château Chevaliers Lagrézette (Cahors). Coming from high terraces above the River Lot, this wood-aged wine is cool, collected and stylish. It has ripe blackberry and currant fruits along with just the right amount of firm tannins. Acidity keeps everything fresh and fruity while guarding the structure. Drink from 2017. The Other Wine & Spirits. —R.V. abv: 13.5% Price: $30

88 Château Lagrézette 2012 Purple Réserve (Cahors). A senior version of Purple, this wood-aged wine is smooth, soft and generous, with attractive mint perfumes along with toast. Big black plum fruits are generous and warm, while still solid with tannins. The wine is drinkable, although it will be better in 2017. The Other Wine & Spirits. —R.V. abv: 13.5% Price: $30

94 Château Lagrézette 2012 Malbec (Cahors). This is a serious, dark and brooding wine. Powerful tannins and dense structure along with layers of concentrated black fruits all point to a wine for long term aging. The mineral texture and pronounced acidity add to the longevity of this impressive wine. Drink from 2019. The Other Wine & Spirits. Cellar Selection. —R.V. abv: 13.5% Price: $50

93 Château Lagrézette 2012 Le Pigeonnier (Cahors). Le Pigeonnier, Lagézette’s top wine, pushes Malbec to its limits. It’s a big wine in all senses, perfumed, tannic with truffle and black fruits alongside a dense, extracted character. It will balance out as it ages, but will always be bold and powerful. The Other Wine & Spirits. —R.V. abv: 14.5% Price: $299

92 Château Lagrézette 2012 Clos Marguerite Massaut (Cahors). Acquired in 2006 by Alain-Dominique Perrin of Lagrézette, Clos Marguerite is situated on the top terrace above the Lot. It’s a perfumed, polished wine, ripe and smooth in texture despite the attendant tannins. They give a dry core to the generous black fruits and acidity, allowing the wine to be structured as well as opulent. Drink from 2017. The Other Wine & Spirits. —R.V. abv: 13.5% Price: $55

87 Château Lagrézette 2014 Le Rosé de Julie (Côtes du Lot). This wine is from Alain Dominique Perrin’s Lagrézette estate in Cahors, although it is not labeled as such because the Cahors AOP is only red wine. Made from Malbec, it has the palest rosé color and elegant texture, with strawberry fruitiness and lively final acidity. Drink now. The Other Wine & Spirits. —R.V. abv: 13% Price: $25
